NAS File share browser

I, like many others, store my CBR/CBZs on a NAS file share. It would be brilliant if we could mount, browse and import comics from that share. I think the preference for the majority of folks would be for CIFS/SMB support - but AFP works for me ;)

Ben, any use of a wifi network is a total support nightmare for me. When we used to HAVE to do wifi it would take me a couple of hours a day to get through support emails from people who had unreliable wifi networks but didn't know it.

I really, really don't want to go back to that!

D'oh! That never occurred to me... oh well then! Thanks for the response. I will continue to use FileBrowser then to get files to CZ.

    BTW - love the product!

    Hi,

accessing a file share on a NAS oder PC would be a great thing for me either.
Or even FTP if its easier.

I see that interacting with a network may increase support, but where is the big difference to supporting cloud drives like dripbox?

    Kind regards,
    Rolf

I agree. This would be extremely useful. Not sure why there would be "issues" if itnis implemented correctly, and these days more and more appas support smb access

One more vote for an easier way to interface with SMB/NAS. I've been a happy CZ user for years, and this is really my only grip with the app. Maybe I'm missing something. I use AirDrop from a Mac on the network, but that limits me to one file at a time. (I do what I can to avoid the iTunes app.) It would be great being able to browse/download multiple files from within CZ, since iOS doesn't do the whole file system thing that great.

Robert, why don't you use the web server? you can dump hundreds of files into it and you don't have to plug the device into your computer.

    emolina, you're missing the point...

I don't want to fill up my device with files, to later delete and replace with others, etc. that's what we have file/media servers for, to have all of our stuff in a centralized place, and just read a comic, play a song, view movie from any device, anywhere without having to copy anything...

Walter, I was responding to Robert, he was asking about downloading multiple files into CZ and mentioned using AirDrop.

Better syncing with cloud services is something I would like to do soon.

Hi emolina. Ok I saw you were responding to Robert, but he's the same Robert that said: "One more vote for an easier way to interface with SMB/NAS"... Or did you not see that part?

Yes I did, shouldn't I have tried to fix his problem with the tools that I have available for him now?

Yes, of course (although here you are not "fixing" anything, just letting him know of something that already exists and he doesn't know about).
We're just asking for a new feature that would be awesome to have, and that it seems was difficult to implement some time ago but now it's nit that hard as lots of apps have it.

    Regards.
