History tracking in Thinkbook 2 - Do we really need it?

There's a little button at the bottom of Thinkbook 2 which keeps track of opened notebook history, do we really need it? I never use it. I mean we already have search function so that we can find a note quickly. The thing is this little history button bypasses notebook passcode, otherwise I can live with it even if I never comprehend why we need such a thing in the first place.
